The Mayor of Clare has signed the international declaration for age friendly communities on behalf of the county.
In a ceremony in Dublin Castle, attended by COuncillor Pat Hayes, County Clare signed the document along with around forty other county and city authorities world wide.
The plan is part of efforts to make County Clare a more inclusive place for the elderly, and is part of a wider campaign.
