32% of nursing posts in Clare mental health services are vacant.
The findings are contained in an internal audit from the HSE, which shows the impact of the recruitment embargo on front-line services.
67% of all nursing vacancies in the HSE West, which includes Clare, are in front-line positions while some areas have no public health nursing service.
The audit comes just days after the HSE admitted that as a result of a 35 million euro budget deficit, the HSE West is implementing a number of cuts, including the review of 300 temporary staff
A public meeting on the cuts is to be held at the West County Hotel in Ennis at 7pm this evening – Ennis town Councillor Paul O’Shea has called on Clare residents to attend
