An internationally renowned Clare musician has taken on a new role with the University of Limerick.
Martin Hayes has been appointed as the recipient of a new three-year arts patronage award through the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance.

The award is designed to facilitate the creative process of selected artists across a three-year period through a budget of €60,000.
Martin Hayes says he's deeply honoured to be named as the first award recipient, and says it will allow him explore the possibility of further musical collaboration at the UL academy.
