Garda resources in Clare are to be boosted by the appointment of a new Chief Superintendent
Bellharbour native John Kerin is to take up the role in two weeks time after the Justice Minister announced a recruitment ban would be lifted to fill vacant senior positions and re-enforce local defences against crime.
Chief Superintendent Kerin currently holds the top Garda position in County Kerry and has also been acting Chief Superintendent for the Limerick Garda Division in the last two months.

He previously served as Superintendent in the Ennis Garda district for 8 years and has told Clare FM he’s delighted to be returning to familiar territory.
