A Clare nun is calling on the Diocese of Killaloe to address the hurt caused by new plans for male only Deacons.
The body has announced its intentions to train men to officiate at ceremonies and aid in parish work – in a bid to support the falling numbers of clergy locally.

However a number of people have raised concerns on the issue – with some erecting posters in churches saying "Women have had enough Discrimination" – while others have aired their anger on Clare FM.
Sr Mary Lillis of the Corofin Sisters of Mercy says she's been taken aback by the response to the initiative.
