A Civic Reception was awarded to the Clare New York Association in Ennis this week.
The organisation marked its 125th anniversary at the function which was held at Áras Contae an Chláir.
The celebration concluded a three-day visit by Association members to Clare, organised as part of the Gathering Ireland initiative.
Emigration by Clare natives to New York has been an ongoing occurrence for many years.
The Banner County has exported many citizens who have gone on to have great success in the Big Apple including, Olympic Champion Pat McDonnell and World Champion Boxer Mike McTigue.
