Clare Gardaí and Custom Officials at Shannon are being praised for their roles in yesterday’s multi million euro cocaine seizure
Seven kilos of the drug were smuggled into the country through Shannon Airport and in a planned operation recovered when Gardaí stopped and searched a car on the outskirts of Gort.
A 39 year old man, understood to be a well known drug dealer in Limerick and his 24 year old partner were arrested and are being held at Millstreet Garda Station. He could appear in court as early as today.
Then in a follow up search in a house in Moycullen near Galway Gardaí found around a hundred thousand euro in cash hidden under a bath.
