County Clare is on high flood alert once again.
As met Eireann Forecasts heavy rain strong winds and the possibility of structural damage Clare County Council say it’s constantly monitoring river levels and progressing flood alleviation measures and contingency plans.
Gusts of up to 120km/h are forecast, however winds could reach up to 140km/h in exposed today
The Council is urging home and business owners to take precautionary steps in the hope that there’ll be no repeat of the damage done by flooding in Ennis, Clonlara, Sixmilebridge and Carron almost one year ago.
Director of services and Ennis Town Manager Ger Dollard says they’ve been watching weather patterns carefully and have specific staff assigned to contingency measures in the event of another extreme flooding event
