Land, home and business owners in flood prone areas of Clare are being urged to remain vigilant over the coming days as a status RED weather warning has been put in place, met Éireann's highest warning.
Storm Desmond will see 70 millimetres of rainfall overnight and tomorrow along with strong winds and gusts of up to 100 kilometres per hour.
Clare County Council says streams and rivers in high ground or mountainous areas of Clare may burst their banks, leading to a heightened risk of flooding on adjoining lands, property and roads.
Bus Eireann says transport services will not be affected, as the red alert falls outside of their hours of operations – any curtailment of services or disruption will be updated on the Bus Eireann website, Twitter and Facebook pages.
However Clare Bus has cancelled all services for tomorrow due to the red alert, services operate as normal today.
