Clare residents could be offered COVID-19 tests in Limerick or Tipperary over the coming days.
It’s because the local Community Testing Centre, at Cusack Park in Ennis, will be unavailable at times as it stages action in the county hurling championship.
The HSE, which says it’s grateful to the GAA for the use of the stadium, says it’s doesn’t operate its testing facility in GAA grounds when there is a match scheduled, but that it has advance notice of these dates and operates the testing facility around them.
It means that Clare people who are sent forward for testing will be offered an appointment in either Limerick or Tipperary when matches are being held.
It comes as HSE Chief Clinical Officer Dr Colm Henry is praising the low numbers testing positive for the virus across the country.
