Clare plans against possible boundary change to be revealed today

Clare County Council’s plans to oppose any changes to the Clare Limerick Boundary will be made known today.

Clare Councillors will hold a special meeting this afternoon to finalise their submission to the Limerick local government committee which will make recommendations to the Environment Minister before a decision on the boundary is made.

Limerick City Council is seeking an extension of the city border into Clare and County Limerick, though both county authorities are against the move, and residents in Clonlara, Westbury and Parteen say they’ll fight any county change.
