A Clare TD has given chase to a man who attempted to snatch a handbag from a woman in Ennis.
Deputy Timmy Dooley helped secure the return of the woman's bag.

Gardaí say the attempted theft occured on O'Connell Street just after 12 o'clock.
The man responsible then fled in the direction of Carmody Street, where he passed by Deputy Dooley who was driving in the area.
He pulled up his vehicle, and ran after the man who proceeded to drop the bag.
It has been returned to it's owner, who is believed to have been unhurt, while it's also understood that all of the bag's contents were still inside.
Gardaí are now searching for a suspect in connection with the crime.
