As the debate about women in politics continues, few people in Clare are in favour of introducing quotas to address the gender imbalance.
Visitors to the clare.fm website were asked about ways to get more women involved in Irish Politics, but just 5% of those surveyed think candidate quotas are the way to go.
Despite a low percentage of female representation in Clare and across Ireland, a 43% majority of those who took part in the Clare FM poll felt the system should go unchanged as women have as much access to politics as men.
17% of website voters said the Dáil should be more family friendly and less Dublin based while 35% of visitors to the Clare FM website have called for complete reform of the political system to create more interest and new enthusiasm.
