Clare residents are being asked to think twice before taking on a pet, after statistics revealed that a high number of animals here are being put down in the county.
452 dogs as well as 37 horses have been euthanized in Clare in the first ten months of this year by the county’s animal welfare service.
While expressing his supports for the workers involved, Meelick Fianna Fail Councillor Cathal Crowe has said the figures are worrying and should prompt a re-think.
