A Clare retail veteran is to retire from her role at Primark after 37 years.
A native of Boston, Breege O'Donoghue joined the Dublin-based company in 1979, and has overseen it's expansion to over 300 stores in 11 countries.

She oversaw the company's current expansion into the US, and into Italy, where it recently opened it's first store in Milan.
The Irish Indpendent says the 71 year-old will step down from her role as Group Director of New Markets and Business Development in September, but will support the retailer as an ambassador, and in her role as a pension trustee.
