A Clare retailer has issued a stark warning to consumers that certain basic items will be in short supply in the run up to Christmas.
Global shipping and container shortages are causing supply issues for many retailers in this country, with some of the country’s largest toy and home furnishing companies saying they’re experiencing delays ahead of the festive period.
Patrick Bourke of Bourke’s Menswear in Ennis and Kilrush says they’re currently finding it very difficult to replenish stock, particularly when it comes to items like belts and shoes that are “the sliced pan” in their line of business.

He’s predicting that by Christmas, matters will be much worse.
