Clare’s roads could soon be used for a pilot scheme to trial a new way to indicate speed limits.
The Council has been asked to submit a request to the Department of Transport, which would see colours added to the traditional white lines in the middle of the road, indicating the permissable speed.
The suggested markings do not conform with national guidelines, but the local authority has been asked to refer the proposal to central government.
