Students from two Clare schools are in the running for a Central Bank competition which sees them simulate making key economic decisions.
Transition year students in Mary Immaculate Secondary School in Lisdoonvarna and St. Flannan's College of Ennis are among the 270 nationwide who took part in the Generation €uro Students’ Award for 2014-2015.

It challenges the teenagers to learn about monetary policy instruments, in particular interest rate decisions, of the Governing Council of the European Central Bank.
They're now being challenged to predict the ECB's rate decision in March, and will write an essay explaining their choice.
