It’s claimed the national car test needs to be publicly reviewed to instill confidence in the service.
Major concerns have been raised in relation to the consistency of testing between centres following a recently televised investigative report on the NCT service.
An NCT consistency audit organised by the Road Safety Authority has been carried out, where the same vehicle was sent from centre to centre and tested to see if the same standards were met at each centre.

Clare Fianna Fail Deputy Timmy Dooley is calling on the Minister for Transport to publish the results of the consistency audit so that the public can maintain confidence in the system.
