It’s claimed that the government’s decision to sell off it’s 25% stake in Aer Lingus could damage traffic levels at Shannon and other Irish airports.
The coalition says it will sell it’s remaining stake in the former flag carrier ‘when the price is right’ – Transport Minister Leo Varadkar says the stake holds ‘no strategic value’.

However, Clare Fianna Fail TD Timmy Dooley disagrees and fears that tourism and connectivity will be hurt if the move goes ahead.
