Clare's Independent TD says every step must be taken to resist Fracking being permitted to take place in the county.
Dr. Michael Harty is backing a bill which will come before the Dail today, proposing the banning of the controversial method of gas extraction.

Clare is one of only three counties nationwide where a licence has been granted to explore the practice, with UK company Energi Oil given permission to do so in 2011.
Dr. Harty believes allowing it here would be a disaster for the local environment.
