Clare Independent TD Michael McNamara has been elected as the chair of the Dáil’s new special committee on COVID-19.
The Scariff TD has been voted into the position by a majority of TDs, with Sinn Féin’s David Cullinane the only other nominee.
This committee is set to be a high profile one, as it will be tasked with holding to account those making the big decisions about the country’s response to the Coronavirus.
