Clare TD Launches Stinging Attack on Aer Lingus

A Clare government TD has hit out at Aer Lingus, after the former flag carrier temporarily suspended some of its transatlantic services from Shannon Airport.

The airline has pulled its Shannon-Boston flights for ten of eleven days over the Easter period for what the airline describes as "operational reasons."

The carrier is communicating directly with the customers who are impacted.

While Aer Lingus has not expanded on the reasons for its decision, it's reported that the plane normally used on this route will be moved to Dublin to service flights there.

This decision has been met with disappointment by Clare Fine Gael TD Joe Carey,  who feels it shows the need for IAG to demonstrate their commitment to Shannon if they takeover Aer Lingus.
