Clare Tds defend Constituency Report

Clare’s government representatives have defended the work of the Constituency Commission, even though many Clare voters say it has left them disenfranchised.

The Commission’s report which was published yesterday has left the situation in Clare untouched, meaning 4,300 voters in the south-east of the county will continue to cast their votes in Limerick East.

Residents affected have called on Clare TDs to intervene, but Fine Gael Deputy Joe Carey has said it won’t change, despite objections.

While Labour’s Michael McNamara says the Commission had to take the whole of the country into account.
