The Education Minister as confirmed that the Clare Vocational Education Committee will be merged with VECs in Limerick City and County.
Cuts to the number of VECs were announced by the last government when plans to merge County Clare’s Vocational Education body with North Tipperary were approved but the new Minister Ruairi Quinn has now revised those changes.
Concerns had been expressed about the previous arrangement but Minister Quinn has said that new arrangments including the merger of VECs in Clare and Limerick are more appropriate
