With just ten days to go until the Referendum on a new Court of Appeal, Clare voters are being urged to make an informed decision, amid fears that many don’t understand what their voting for.
A recent survey indicated that 54% of people do not understand what the second referendum is about, so voters are being advised to inform themselves through media, the referendum booklet and the commission’s website.
As well as deciding the future of the Seanad, voters will be asked to cast their ballot in a second vote on a proposal to establish a new Appeal Court to deal with a back log of cases and make changes in how the Supreme Court issues it’s decisions.
