Clare Will Learn From Grenfell Tower Fire Says Fire Chief

The head of the Clare Fire Service says they will look to learn lessons in the wake of the Grenfell Tower Disaster in London.

There are further questions over the safety of the cladding used on Grenfell Tower, after a British government minister suggested the covering was against UK building regulations.

It also appears that fire resistant panels weren’t specified on the planning permission papers for the recent refurbishment.

A minutes silence is due to be held across the UK at 11 am this morning to remember the victims of the fire.

Here, new Housing Minister Eoghan Murphy has asked local authorities to urgently review multistorey social housing units while Clare’s Fire Chief, Adrian Kelly, says their fire safety program is proactive.

You can hear more on Morning Focus from 9am, Monday 19.
