A Clare man charged with possessing explosives has been freed on bail this afternoon.
Desmond Brennan of Clonroad, Ennis was among nine men arrested last week on suspicions of dissident republican activities – on Saturday he was charged with having explosive substances at his home on September 22nd last.
At the Special Criminal Court today, he was released on bail on an independent surety of €20,000.

The bail application was not objected to by the state,but Mr Brennan was told he mist adhere to a number of strict conditions including that he surrender his passport and sign on each day at Ennis Garda Station.
