Clare’s Beach By-laws take effect

Beach bye-laws for the summer season come into effect across at 14 coastal sites in Clare from today

The seasonal bye-laws impose restrictions on animal owners – between the hours of 11:00 and 6:00 members of the public are not allowed to bring horses onto beaches, while dogs are also banned between these hours, even if on a leash

The restrictions will remain in place until the end of August though others, including the mandatory clean up and control of pets and the safe use of watercraft, apply year-round

Ruan Councillor Joe Arkins, and Chairman of the Environmental and Water Services Strategic Policy Committee, says the rules are there to enable people to enjoy Clare’s beaches
