Clare's top Garda says he's confident that actions taken by his officers have been a significant factor in a reduction in the number of aggrevated burglaries across the county.
While some criminals have been brought before courts in relation to violent break-ins in West Clare, Chief Superintendent John Kerin has told Clare FM that efforts to target members of locally-based gangs, including arrests, have been key.

He's also revealed that some of his Gardaí have been threatened by criminals, as Clare FM's Lisa Lawlor reports.
