Everest conqueror John Burke has spoken of his emotion on reaching the summit of the world’s tallest mountain.
The 38-year-old West Clare hotelier successfully achieved a decade-long goal last week in becoming the first Clareman to summit the world’s tallest mountain and has returned home to a hero’s welcome at Shannon Airport.
John’s told Clare FM that the moment he unfurled the Saffron and Blue on the summit of Everest was a special moment.
