A number of opposition parties have claimed that the coalition isn't doing enough to protect Ireland's interests ahead of Britain's EU exit ,while Deputy Michael harty has called the current approach "vagu" and un-coordinated.

The Taoiseach was forced to defend his government's approach to Brexit, after Deputy Harty suggested that Ireland take its own approach in the upcoming Brexit negotiatins.

He's concerned that our interests won't be defended by the Eu as it looks to cater for the entire union.

Pointing to this week's Rural Action Plan, the West Clare TD said it didn't do enough to address the issues that Brexit will pose to the agricultural sector.

Deputy Harty claimed that Ireland's approach has been "vague and un-co-ordinated.'

This was rejected by Taoiseach Enda kenny, who outlined how their strategy is to continue to implement the programme for government and to extend diplomatic negotiations with other countries.

In Westminster, meanwhile, the British Prime Minister has confirmed the government's plan for leaving the EU will be set out in a formal policy document.

It's understood a Bill will be published tomorrow – but pro-remain MPs have argued a white paper – will allow for a wider debate.

It's after the government there lost a Supreme Court appeal yesterday so Parliament has to have a say on Article 50.
