The position of Chief Garda Superintendent for Clare will be filled once again today as the new man in charge of the local force takes office.
Bellharbour native John Kerin will take over as head of the Clare Garda Division this morning, filling the position left vacant by the recent public service recruitment embargo.
Chief Superintendent Kerin is leaving the top Garda position in Kerry to take up the Ennis-based role, and previously served as Superintendent in both Limerick and Ennis.
