In Clare FM’s morning news bulletins of June 2nd last, we reported that Joseph Burke of Barbane Broadford County Clare had appeared at Killaloe District Court charged with two counts of interfering with or altering an animal’s ear tag as well as a number of other alleged offences contrary to the European Communities ( Identification and Registration of Bovine Animals) Regulations.
Clare FM accepts that Mr Burke had not been charged with interfering with or altering cattle ear tags . The two charges in question relate to alleged possession or control of an animal " whose ear tag or ear tags have been interfered with or altered in any way".
Clare FM is happy to make this clarification and apologise for the error.
