Clarkson Is Headed For Clare

Be on your guard because Jeremy Clarkson is coming to Clare.

The controversial TV host is coming to the Wild Atlantic Way as part of his first project since he was sacked from Top Gear last week.

Clarkson had been invited here when he was still with the BBC, and now the loud-mouthed petrolhead is taking up that offer in the very near future, given that his diary has become unexpectedly clear.

An emergency meeting of Clare County Council has been called to grant some of the TV star's requests for the visit, including that the Cliffs of Moher be shut down for a time to allow for filming, and for speed limit signs to revert back to miles per hour.

There's been a mixed reaction from listeners to this morning's news.

Concern has been raised about a potential increase in road rage incidents, while others have wondered what the notorious motorhead would make of Blake's Corner in Ennistymon.

We won't be finding out just yet, however – an invitation remains open for Clarkson to come here, but as of yet he hasn't accepted it on this April Fools Day
