The Clare Local Development Company has been given the Green Light by the Department of the Enviroment to proceed with developing a potential LEADER plan for the county.
The new programme, which will run until 2020, will be launched later this year after one of two local development strategies is chosen by a national independent evaluation committee.

The CLDC faces competition from Clare County Council's Local Community Development Committee to retain the right to run LEADER and is holding a series of public consultation meetings for communities and local businesses over the coming weeks.
Doreen Graham, CEO of the CLDC says community imput is vital for the future of the programme.
