The Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre will remain closed for a number of hours today following a burglary which has cut power.
It's understood that power lines were cut as part of efforts to gain entry to the premises overnight last night.
Over 1 million people have already visited the Cliffs of Moher Visitor centre this year, and it is the most popular tourist attraction outside of Dublin.
However, last night it was also tagetted by thieves, who attempted to gain access to the facility.
While circumstances remain somewhat unclear, it's understood that power lines were cut as part of efforts to gain entry.
Gardaí have confirmed that an investigation is now underway, while ESB crews are on site carrying out repairs.
Visitors are allowed to visit the cliffs, though toilet and other facilities are not available to them.
The visitor centre will remain closed until power is restored.
