Locals in North Clare say the staging of a key conference on climate change there this weekend is providing an economic boost to the area.
Over 50 experts from more than 10 countries, including an advisor to US President Barack Obama, are gathering in North Clare for Climate Gathering, which gets underway this morning.

The event is being staged at the Burren College of Art on the outskirts of Ballyvaughan, and one of the organisers and former Green Party Minister Eamon Ryan, says he’s hopeful the unique ecology of the area can highlight to participants the importance of action on climate change.
President of the Burren College of Art Mary Hawkes Greene says the wider area is benefiting too.
