Residents in Clonlara are calling on the OPW to begin preparing for beginning flood works in the area now to avoid delays in the project.
Work on a long-awaited flood embankment will get underway in April, after An Bord Pleanala granted planning permission last month.
Minister for the OPW Patrick O Donovan will visit the area today, along with those in Spanish Point, Miltown Malbay and Lahinch.

Springfield resident Gerardine Quinlivan, whose area has experienced recurrent flooding in recent years, says she’s hoping the ground work can be laid in the next eight weeks.
