The Irish Coastguard is appealing to people to be aware of potential dangerous waters, following a tragic fishing incident off the Clare Coast
Polish man Marcin Budys died after being swept out to sea north of Doolin on Saturday.
The 34 year old man from Tullamore was with his family on a weekend break in Clare when this tragedy.
He was fishing with them at the Ballyrean north area of Doolin when it’s believed he lost his footing and fell into the water below.
The alarm was quickly raised and the Shannon Based Helicopter attended the scene along with Doolin rescue service but due to the choppy waters it was up to an hour before he could be plucked from the water.
He was rushed to Galway University Hospital but pronounced dead a short time later.
It’s the latest in a series of fishing tragedies off the Clare Coast and elsewhere and the Irish Coastguard has repeated its safety warning for people near potentially dangerous waters
