The news follows the announcement of a new Shannon to Stockholm service from August to October next year, which will be operated by Scandinavian Airlines.

Nationally, there was an 8.8% rise in Europe and US flights, while there was a 1.4% increase in overflight traffic movements, which are flights that don't land in Ireland.
