Communities along the River Shannon remain on high alert for flooding this morning.
The river is set to peak over the coming days following heavy rain and poor conditions in recent days.
50 homes were evacuated over the weekend including a number in Clare – and 220 members of the Defence Forces were deployed to assist affected areas.
The worst hit area was Corbally – where 14 homes were inundated with water as council workers struggled to open a canal lock.
Meanwhile, in Ennis St Flannan's College remains closed today on account of flooding over the weekend.
Parents and students are advised to check the college website for updates.
Flooding has also rendered a number of routes impassable, and motorists in these areas are being urged to drive with care.
