Efforts by Gardaí to clamp down on anti social behaviour and other criminal activity in Ennis have been given a boost.
Contracts have been signed for the provision of extra security cameras to be installed across the Rapid areas of the town, including Clancy Park, Coote Park, Considine’s Road, Waterpark Heights and McHugh villas.
Ennis Town Council will oversee the installation of 13 new closed circuit cameras and an upgrade for the existing network, which is hoped to significantly reduce crime in the area.
