An East Clare postmaster insists post offices still have a role to play in the 21st century.
Feakle postmaster Brian McMahon has now expanded and taken over the Scarriff branch as well, following the retirement of the long-serving postmistress there earlier this month.
The decision goes against the grain of the national trend, where a number of post offices have closed down in the past 12 months with fears that more are coming down the line.
