A major new project to develop a historical centre in Kilrush is being launched today.
The Kilrush and District Historical Society has secured €240,000 for the development of a a genealogy centre at Terrett Lodge in the West Clare town.
An open event, which will be attended by members of Clare County Council as well as Professor Muiris O’Sullivan of the Heritage Council, is being held at Teach Cheoil from 7.30 this evening.
