The Cratloe-based general secretary of the ICSA claims Garda figures don’t represent the true extent of crime on farms.
The latest study by the Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers Association on agricultural crime has found that two thirds of farm families have been affected by crime.
It also shows that many people in rural Ireland have little confidence in how An Garda Siochana and the judicial system are tackling the issue.
