Concerns Hospital Overcrowding Will Lead To Spread Of Superbugs

Concern has been expressed in Clare that the level of overcrowding in our hospitals this week will lead to the spread of dangerous superbugs.

This week has seen record trolley numbers, with University Hospital Limerick consistently among the busiest in the country, while health professionals are also warning of a winter flu strain.

It comes as the National Public Health Emergency Team has revealed that 19 cases of the CPE superbug were detected in Irish hospitals in the last two weeks of 2017 alone.
