Concerns Over Impact Of Pedestrianisation In Ennis

A prominent Ennis retailer has expressed concern about the impact on trade of the pedestrianisation of Ennis town centre.

Issues cited include inadequate parking and signage, lack of accessibility for those with disabilities or limited movement.

The town centre has been pedestrianised from 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday for the last number of weeks to allow for social distancing outside of shops.

But O’Connell Street newsagent Mary Kelly says the changes mean some customers are staying away, or finding it hard to do their shopping in the town.
