Concerns are being raised over a potential accident black spot in South East Clare.
Traffic calming measures and extra signage have been called for at Brennan’s Cross in Meelick after a number of incidents so far this year.
The incidents have taken place mainly at night, with motorists who are unfamiliar with the road being caught unawares by a wall when coming off the cross.

Councillor Michael Begley, who has called for the short term measures, says a long term solution could involve the Council purchasing land to realign the road.
