Construction On €8m Development Due To Get Underway In Autumn In Shannon Free Zone

Construction on an 8 million euro development in the Shannon Free Zone is expected to get underway this autumn.

Planning permission has been sought for a four storey office block, which it's hoped will attract major investment and jobs into the area.

The landmark office block investment is the largest project in the 21 million euro redevelopment of the Shannon Free Zone.

The five-year plan involves the rejuvenation of the oldest areas of the business park in the hope of attracting increased investment to the region and a boost in employment.

Shannon Free Zone is already one of the country's largest multi-sectoral business parks, employing nearly 7,000 people in over 150 companies.

The new state-of the art office block is designed to attract large single tenants but can also be subdivided for multiple tenancies.

Shannon Group’s property wing, Shannon Commercial Properties has applied for planning permission for the 55,000 square foot development.

If planning permission is granted, construction will begin in September and is expected to be completed within twelve months.
